Blog: For your drivers

September 9th 2020 is the first ever World EV Day!

World EV Day is a global movement - a day to celebrate e-mobility, and a day to discuss the need for sustainable transport for consumers and businesses around the world.

We know that the way we drive is closely related to the way we live. So, it can be tempting to think that our driving style is just the way it is – no chance of changing it! But this article aims to show you just how unhelpful (and incorrect!) that thinking really is.

Have you ever had a crash while driving? What about a near-miss, or a moment where you thought to yourself ‘oops, that wasn’t great driving right there...’?

Was it at a time when you were stressed, rushing, distracted, or otherwise just not in a great space in your life?

Well, you wouldn’t be alone.

We all know the importance of washing our hands to help stop the spread of COVID-19. And, as we have seen at the supermarkets, the cleaning of any shared surfaces to kill off any germs left behind by someone who has gone before us.

While in Level 4 lockdown the number of these surfaces were possibly few and far between, most of us were only in our bubble. But now we are heading back to work, and there is one place many hands can and will be, and we need to stay on top of cleaning and sanitising it: your vehicle!

By working together as a nation, there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel. Level 3 now sees more of us getting back on the roads, although the majority of the country is still staying home and staying safe.

As we head towards less restrictions, let’s make sure we’ve got our vehicles ready for the return to the road!

School’s out! The usual happy shout at the start of any holidays. But currently around New Zealand school’s out. Work’s out. Sports are out. Easter BBQs are out. And we are all in. Or, more to the point, locked down.

Training in a pandemic.

Travel. Travel has been one of the key behaviours that has turned the Covid-19 virus into a global pandemic. Now that it’s in our backyard, and building traction, it’s time to refocus!

Take a look at how you can train your team to focus on health, safety and wellbeing during these uncertain times, whether they are at work or at home.

Drive into the holidays… safely!

Ever wondered just how far you can travel in one second? If you’re driving at 100 kmph it’s 28 metres. Now, imagine if you lose your concentration for just one second or you drift off for just a moment. A lot can happen in 28 metres!

As the end of 2019 draws to a close, the team here at Fleetcoach want to ensure you can enjoy a safe and relaxed summer holiday. So, here are our top five tips for making better choices when you’re behind the wheel this holiday season.

Fleetcoach champions Safe Work Month in Australia

Rugby World Cup time means one thing, a patient wait through the pool games for the clash of the titans: Australia vs. New Zealand. But, only one can be the champion … unless of course, we take this battle off the field.

Some motorcycle riders love the wind in their face, the open road under their wheels, and the feel of a leather jacket - all of which can give them a sense of freedom and rebellion. For others it is the ease of city living riding a moped. And for a few it is just the super coolness of a Vespa. What links all these riders however, is the reasonable expectation to be safe.
